    Database Trial: Scopus

We have access to Scopus for the next month with a possible extension to Easter.  Access is direct on campus at http://www.scopus.com

The next RAE is likely to involve bibliometric assessment in selected areas, especially Science, and Scopus could be one of the tools used to assess research outputs, alongside Web of Knowledge.  Like WoK, it allows for citation analysis and we will be comparing the Scopus citation data against WoK as part of the trial.

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources.  Updated daily, Scopus offers:

    • 15,000 peer-reviewed journals from more than 4,000 publishers
    • Over 1,000 open-access journals
    • Results from 386,000,000 scientific webpages
    • Conference proceedings, trade publications, and patents

Please take a look and send any feedback to  Heather or Ian.
